CIAC Seeks to Prevent Conflict Among Farmers in the Mugina Sector

In an effort to promote peaceful coexistence and sustainable development, the Centre intervention et d’Action Communautaire (CIAC) has launched a new initiative to prevent conflicts among farmers in the Mugina sector. As a national non-governmental organization (NGO), CIAC aims to improve livelihoods and protect natural resources through environmentally friendly agriculture practices.

Established in June 2022, CIAC operates across all provinces of Rwanda, with its head office located in Kigali city. The organization’s mission is to contribute to the socio-economic development of Rwandan communities by efficiently utilizing natural resources and promoting sustainable agriculture.

One of the primary objectives of CIAC is to fight against violence within families. To achieve this, the organization leads group discussions to analyze and provide appropriate solutions. By installing a culture of working together in family plans based on the national strategies of the country, CIAC aims to foster harmonious relationships and prevent conflicts from escalating.

Moreover, CIAC is dedicated to protecting natural resources and promoting environmentally friendly agricultural techniques. By encouraging farmers to adopt sustainable practices, such as organic farming and efficient water usage, the organization aims to minimize negative impacts on the environment while increasing agricultural productivity.

In addition, CIAC strives to improve hygiene and sanitation in communities by developing and managing water and sanitation infrastructures. The organization aims to increase access to clean water and sanitation facilities, thereby reducing the risk of waterborne diseases and promoting overall health and well-being.

Promoting gender equality, ICT literacy, and entrepreneurship among women and youth is another key focus area for CIAC. By empowering these marginalized groups, CIAC aims to accelerate sustainable development and create opportunities for economic growth.

Research and education are also important pillars of CIAC’s work. By studying poverty causes and eradication strategies, the organization seeks to develop informed solutions that address the root causes of poverty. Additionally, CIAC promotes child rights and works towards eliminating child labor through education and advocacy.

Lastly, CIAC is committed to providing humanitarian aid to vulnerable populations affected by disasters, wars, or epidemics. By responding swiftly and effectively, the organization aims to alleviate suffering and support affected communities in their recovery efforts.

With its comprehensive approach to community development, CIAC is poised to make a significant impact in the Mugina sector and beyond. By addressing the underlying causes of conflict and promoting sustainable practices, the organization hopes to create a better future for Rwandan farmers and their communities.
